Is Catalina Island worth it?
Yes, if you want a calmer day than Saona. Catalina is a small island off La Romana with calm, clear water and a reef close to the beach, so you spend more of the day in the water and less in crowds.
How much does the Catalina tour cost?
$75 per adult and $37.50 for children 2 to 12. Children under 2 go free. The price includes hotel pickup, the boat to the island, lunch on the beach and the open bar on board.
Catalina or Saona?
Catalina is quieter, with calm water and a reef right off the beach. Saona is the classic Caribbean postcard, with the natural pool and a catamaran out and speedboat back. If you can only do one and want the famous day, pick Saona; if you prefer calm and fewer people, pick Catalina.
What is included?
Hotel pickup and drop-off, the boat to the island, lunch on the beach and the open bar on board. Tips and premium or imported drinks are not included.
What time is pickup at my hotel?
It depends on your area; the pickup table on this page lists every zone. We confirm your exact time on WhatsApp the day before. The bus waits 10 minutes at each hotel.
I'm not staying at a hotel. Can you pick me up?
Yes. If you're at an Airbnb or a villa, we pick you up at the entrance of the closest hotel on our route, or you meet us at our meeting point. We agree on it with you before the tour.
What should I bring?
Swimsuit, towel, biodegradable sunscreen and some cash if you want to tip.
Is it good for kids?
Yes. Children 2 to 12 pay half price and under 2 go free, and the water at Catalina is usually calm.
How do I pay? Is it safe?
By card, on a secure Stripe checkout page. Stripe emails your receipt right away and your ticket arrives on WhatsApp, or by email if you don't use WhatsApp. We don't take cash at pickup.
Can I cancel or change the date?
Cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund. You can also move your date once, free, up to 24 hours before. Less than 24 hours before, there's no refund.
What if it rains?
Light rain doesn't stop the tour. If the port closes for safety and the tour is cancelled on our side, you choose a new date or a full refund.
